First things first

The first blog posting on what will be the blog for our "Ladybugz Lowriders". The beginning really started over 40 years ago, with Grandma Pearl's Dachshunds. She had a red short haired named Suzy. Then in my early years (under 4 yrs old) they opened their home up to a rescue black and tan short hair named Freddy. Suzy was Grandpa's girl and the memories of her riding on the handle bars of his motorcycle around the sand and gravel plant are part of why I fell in love with this breed. Grandpa made Suzy a helmet of sorts out of a semi hollow ball that fit her lil head like it was made for her....because it was.
I remember Freddy as the lil masked pup who licked the bottoms of my feet. I have heard he was leary of people but I have only good memories of him.

It was a special day in January 2008 when Bobby told me I would be getting a red miniature dachshund. We picked up Susie Pearl (aka Ladybugs Susie Sand Pearl) at H2 K Dachshunds in Brenham Texas 9on Feb 13, 2008. We absolutely loved Susie Pearl and her  first year was filled with such fun and just a small amount of sorrow. When she was six months old we found out she had a genetically compromised immune system which allowed the mites that all dogs have to overun her system and she was having skin issues. After consultation and testing with our awesome vet Dr Tommy Cargill we chose to get her spayed after the treatments. It was a rough few months.Susie Pearl has formed a huge bond with her Daddy!

Stormy Sue @ 3 months old

We got our founding girl....Ladybugs Dewberry Storm, who we call Stormy Sue on October 11, 2009. Stormy is a sweet, talkative, bundle of energy who loves to snuggle and is defiantly a mama's girl.
Stormy is going  to be big girl. she is Hovering around 12 pounds at 5 months old. We do plan to breed her down when we do breed her in the spring of 2011.
